Reservation will be given only to the permanent residence certificate holders of Uttarakhand. Eligibility Criteria (Age and Qualification)
Age Limit – 30 to 45 Years as on 01st Jul 2024. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC and other categories is applicable as per State Govt rules.
Educational Qualification – As per latest NMC-TEQ Regulations- Minimum qualifications for teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations 22 Feb, 2022 (See UKMSSB MCI TEQ).
It is mandatory for the candidate to have a valid/ renewed registration certificate in the Medical Council of any state of the country till the last date of applying online for Uttarakhand Assistant Professor Recruitment.
Note: Medical Council registration certificate is not mandatory for candidates holding M.Sc (Medical)/ Ph.D Medical degree in non-clinical subjects.
Preferential Qualification – Other things being equal, preference will be given in case of direct recruitment to those candidates who have served for a minimum period of 02 years in the Territorial Army OR who have obtained B Certificate of National Cadet Corps (NCC).
Assistant Professor Selection Procedure
Uttarakhand Medical College Assistant Professor selection process includes assessment of Paper Publication, Experience and Additional Educational Qualifications followed by Interview. The selection process will be of maximum 100 Marks as per the marks distribution given below:
- Paper Publication – 01 paper will carry 05 Marks. Paper publications will be valid as per the standards set by MCI/ NMC. (Maximum Marks – 20)
- Experience – 04 Marks for complete 01 Year. Experience of State/ Central/ Autonomous Govt Hospital, Govt Medical College will be valid. Experience of private sector will not be valid for marking. Marks will be given for experience after minimum prescribed qualification. (Maximum Marks – 20)
- Additional Educational Qualification – MCH/ DM/ DNB Super Speciality (10 Marks)
- Interview – 50 Marks
The paper publications will be valid as per the notifications in force issued by MCI/ NMC at the time of approval. Marks for paper publications and experience after the mandatory minimum paper publications and experience as per the standards prescribed by MCI/ NMC for educational qualification of Assistant Professor will be allowed.
Experience Certificate – Only that experience certificate will be valid which is issued with the signature of the competent authority of the department/ institution. The certificate issued mentioning the work will not be valid. The competent authority will be the Director/ Principal/ Registrar of the medical college. Apart from this, certificate issued by others will not be valid.
It will have to be clearly mentioned in the certificate that on which date the concerned candidate was appointed and till which date he/she continued to work. If a candidate has taken charge again due to absence, then the absence period will not be counted in the experience. The experience of the candidate will be counted only when he/she completes 01 year i.e. 365 days. Marks will be given for experience after the minimum prescribed qualification.
Admit Card – Information regarding document verification/ interview like date, time and place will be made available on the official website. Admit Card will be made available to the candidates through the Board’s website, which the candidate will have to download and carry at the time of document verification/ interview.
Result – The exam/ selection result for the concerned posts will be prepared only under the provisions prescribed in the relevant service rules. The selection recommendation will be sent to the employing officer only after verification of original educational and other documents to confirm the claims made in the online application by the selected candidates.

After submitting the online application, take a printout of the system generated form for reference/ record. The printout (hard copy) of online application form or any other documents are not required to be sent via Post to the Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board.
