UKPSC Forest Range Officer, Logging, Asst Recruitment Exam

UKPSC has invited applications for filling up the following 46 Vacancies of Forest Range Officer, Logging Officer and Assistant Conservator of Forest. Eligible candidates can apply online for the Uttarakhand Forest Dept Group B Vacancies through psc.uk.gov.in up to 19th Feb 2025. UKPSC Forest Range Officer and Other Posts 2025

Pay Scale:
Logging Officer and Assistant Forest Conservator – Rs 56100-177500 (Level-10).
Forest Range Officer – 47600-151100 (Level-08).

Total Number of Vacancies – 46 Posts (Group B)

Forest Range Officer – 31 (UR-20, EWS-03, SC-07, OBC-01)
Logging Officer – 12 (UR-07, EWS-01, SC-03, OBC-01)

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Educational Qualification):

Age Limit – 21 to 42 years as on 01st Jul 2025 i.e. candidate must have been born between 02 Jul 1983 and 01 Jul 2004. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories will be applicable as per Govt rules.

Educational Qualification – Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Technology/ Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent with at least one of the subjects from Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Application/ Computer Science, Engineering (Agriculture/ Chemical/ Civil/ Computer/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical), Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Zoology.

Preferential Qualification – Other things being equal, preference will be given in the case of direct recruitment to a candidate who has served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of 02 years OR who has obtained B or C certificate of National Cadet Corps OR who has obtained certificate of NSS.

Selection Process, Physical and Exam Pattern

The selection process for the posts of Forest Range Officer, Logging Officer and Assistant Conservator of Forest consists of Preliminary exam, Main exam, Physical standard test and Interview as follows:

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Exam (General Studies and General Aptitude Test) paper will be of 02 Hours duration and will consist of total 150 objective type questions (01 mark each) of maximum 150 Marks. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer given by candidates.

  • Part-1 (General Studies): 100 Questions (100 Marks)
  • Part-2 (General Aptitude Test): 50 Questions (50 Marks)

UKPSC Syllabus for Forest Range Officer, Logging Officer and Assistant Forest Conservator Exam is given below.

The Pre exam will be conducted in Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Haldwani, Rudrapur, Pantnagar, Khatima, Kashipur, Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Roorkee, Pauri Garhwal, Kotdwar, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Gopeshwar, Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi centers/ cities.

Main Examination

Candidates qualified in Preliminary Exam will be called to appear for the Main Exam. The Mains will be of maximum 700 Marks consisting 05 papers as follows:

  • General Hindi (1st Compulsory Paper): 100 Marks (03 Hours duration)
  • General English (2nd Compulsory Paper): 100 Marks (03 Hours duration)
  • General Knowledge (3rd Compulsory Paper): 100 Marks (03 Hours duration)
  • Optional Subject 1: 200 Marks (03 Hours duration)
  • Optional Subject 2: 200 Marks (03 Hours duration)

The mains and physical test will be conducted at the examination centers of Haridwar Nagar.

Physical Standard Test

Height – Male: 163 Cms and Female: 150 Cms.
Chest – Male: 84 Cms and Female: 79 Cms (min expansion is 05 Cms).

In the case of the Scheduled Tribes and candidates belonging to the Gorkha, Nepali, Assamese, Ladakhi, Sikkimese, Bhutanese, Garhwali, Kumaoni, Naga origin and candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, Lahaul & Spiti and Meghalaya, the minimum height will be 152 Cms for Male and 145 Cms for Female.

For the post of Logging Officer and Forest Range Officer, it will be mandatory for male candidates to cover a distance of 25 Kms and in case of female candidates, it will be mandatory to cover a distance of 16 Kms by walking in 04 Hours.

While for the post of Assistant Forest Conservator, it will be mandatory for male candidates to cover a distance of 25 Kms and in case of female candidates, it will be necessary to cover a distance of 14 Kms by walking in 04 Hours.

Interview

Candidates declared qualified in the main examination and physical test will be called for Interview carrying maximum 75 Marks. Candidates called for interview will have to fill their online preference for each post and attach the relevant certificates like educational/ reservation/ experience and others for verification on the date of document verification/ interview.

For selection, final merit list will be prepared post and category wise according to the number of vacancies based on proficiency, preference and marks obtained in main examination and interview. The result will be declared through the website of the Commission.

Questions of verbal, non-verbal and analytical types consisting of analogies, syllogism, similarities, differences, missing numbers, characters and sequences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, direction sense, coding-decoding, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, data representation and analysis, arithmetical number series.

The test would also include questions designed to test the candidates’ ability to deal with abstract ideas, facts and figures, symbols and their relationships, arithmetical and numerical computations and other analytical, mathematical and quantitative functions.

Application Form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates have to submit online application form for the UKPSC Forest Range Officer and Other Posts Uttarakhand through the website ukpsc.net.in up to 19th Feb 2025. Keep ready your mobile number, email id, educational details and scanned images of recent colour passport size photograph and signature in JPG/ JPEG format.

After successful submission of online application, take a printout of computer generated form for record and future correspondence.

Application fee:
UR/ EWS/ OBC Category – Rs 150/- as application fee plus processing charges.
SC/ ST Category – Rs 60/- as application fee plus processing charges.
PH Category – Processing charges (no application fee).
Orphan Category – Nil.

The requisite fee can be paid through online mode using Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI at the time of submission of online application form. Candidates declared successful in the prelims have to deposit the fee separately for the mains by the date fixed by the Commission.
