Eligibility Criteria (Age and Qualification)
Eligibility criteria like age limit, relaxation, educational qualification etc for the RRB Paramedical Recruitment are as follows:
Age Limit (As on 01 Jan 2025):
Dietician, Clinical Psychologist, Dental Hygienist, Health and Malaria Inspector, Lab Superintendent, Optometrist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Cath Lab Technician, Speech Therapist, Cardiac Technician, Optometrist, ECG Technician and Lab Assistant – 18 to 36 years.
Nursing Superintendent (Staff Nurse) – 20 to 43 years, Audiologist & Speech Therapist – 21 to 33 years, Dialysis Technician – 20 to 36 years, Perfusionist – 21 to 43 years, Pharmacist – 20 to 38 years and Radiographer – 19 to 36 years.
Upper age limit includes a relaxation of 03 years as a one-time measure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories is applicable as per Govt rules.
Educational Qualification:
Dietician – B.Sc (Science) with Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics (01 year course) and 03 months internship training in a hospital. OR B.Sc Home Science plus M.Sc Home Science (Food and Nutrition) from a recognised institution.
Nursing Superintendent (Staff Nurse) – Certificate as Registered Nurse and Midwife having passed 03 years course in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a school of Nursing or other institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council OR B.Sc (Nursing).

Dental Hygienist – Degree in Science (Biology) and Diploma/ Certificate Course (02 years) in Dental Hygiene and Registered with Dental Council of India as Dental Hygienist and 02 years experience as Dental Hygienist.
Dialysis Technician – B.Sc plus Diploma in Haemodialysis OR 02 years satisfactory in-house Training/ Experience in Haemodialysis work in a reputed institution.
Audiologist & Speech Therapist – Bachelor in Audiology, Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) from a recognized University and must be registered with Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
Health and Malaria Inspector Grade III – B.Sc with Chemistry as Main/ Optional subject and 01 year Diploma of Health/ Sanitary Inspector OR 01 year National Trade Certificate (NTC) in Health Sanitary Inspector awarded by NCVT.
Lab Superintendent Grade III – B.Sc with Bio-Chemistry/ Micro Biology/ Life science/ B.Sc with Chemistry and Biology as main or as optional/ subsidiary subjects or equivalent plus Diploma in Medical Lab technology (DMLT) or equivalent OR B.Sc in Medical Technology (Laboratory) from a recognized institution.
Optometrist – B.Sc in Optometry or Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician (3 to 4 years duration) and Registration with the concerned Council / Licensing body.
Cardiac Technician – 12th Pass (10+2) in Science with certificate course or Diploma in Cardiology Lab Investigations consisting of ECG, Holter and TMT (Candidate trained in Echocardiography is preferable).
Perfusionist – B.Sc with Diploma in Perfusion Technology OR B.Sc and 03 years experience in Cardio Pulmonary Pump Technician in Reputed Recognised Hospital.
Physiotherapist – Bachelors’ Degree in Physiotherapy and 02 years practical experience in Physiotherapy from the Govt/ Private Hospital with at least one hundred beds.
Clinical Psychologist – Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology/ Social Psychology from a recognized University.
Occupational Therapist – 12th Pass (10+2) with Science and Diploma/ Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Cath Laboratory Technician – B.Sc and Diploma from a reputed Cardiac Lab in Cardiac Professional Cath Lab work or two years house training/ experience in a reputed Cardiac Cath Laboratory.
Pharmacist (Entry Grade) – 10+2 in Science or its equivalent, with Diploma in Pharmacy and registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 OR Bachelor degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma) from a recognized University or equivalent and Registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act,1948.
Radiographer X-Ray Technician – 10+2 with Physics & Chemistry and 02 years Diploma in Radiography/ X Ray Technician/ Radiodiagnosis Technology (Science graduates will be preferred) from recognized Institute.
Speech Therapist – B.Sc and Diploma in Audio and Speech Therapy with 02 years experience in the relevant field.
ECG Technician – 10+2/ Graduation in Science with Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in ECG Laboratory Technology/ Cardiology/ Cardiology Technician/ Cardiology Techniques from a reputed institution.
Field Worker – 12th Pass (10+2) in Science with Biology or Chemistry from a recognized Board.
Lab Assistant Grade II – 12th Pass (10+2) in Science plus Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT).

RRB Paramedical Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The recruitment process consists of Single stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by verification of original documents and medical fitness test. The CBT exam will be of 90 Minutes duration and will consist of total 100 objective type questions (each of 1 mark). There will be negative marking in CBT and 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Professional Ability: 70 Questions (70 Marks)
- General Awareness: 10 Questions (10 Marks)
- General Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning: 10 Questions (10 Marks)
- General Science: 10 Questions (10 Marks)
Minimum 40% marks (30% marks for OBC/SC and 25% marks for ST candidates) will be mandatory to qualify the CBT. The exam date, time and venue of the CBT will be fixed by the RRB and will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course.
Eligible candidates can download their E-call letter for the CBT from the RRB website about 04 days before the exam date. However, intimation about the city of examination will be sent about 10 days in advance via SMS and Email.
After completion of CBT, candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification based on the performance of candidates in the CBT exam. During document verification, candidates will have to produce their original certificates/ documents.
Final selection will be based on merit i.e. marks obtained in the CBT and subject to successful completion of document verification and passing medical examination.

Keep ready a valid Email ID, Mobile number, Educational qualification details and scanned copy of Photograph (20 KB to 50 KB), Signature (10 KB to 40 KB), SC/ ST Certificate (50 KB to 100 KB) and Scribe Photo (20 KB to 50 KB) in JPEG format.
To apply online for the RRB Paramedical Staff Recruitment, visit on the website www.rrbapply.gov.in and then click on “Create an Account” link (candidates who have already created an account need not register again). After successful submission of online application, take print out of the online application for reference. No physical copy of application is required to be sent to RRBs.
Examination Fee:
Rs 250 – For PwBD/ Female/ Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class.
Rs 500 – For all other candidates.
The exam fee can be paid by using Internet Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI (online).
