Indian Navy invites applications from 10+2 pass candidates for enrolment as Agniveer (SSR) for 02/2025, 01/2026 and 02/2026 batch. All eligible unmarried male and female candidates can apply online for Navy SSR Bharti Vacancies (INET) through joinindiannavy.gov.in from 29th Mar to 16th Apr 2025 (extended). Indian Navy SSR Agniveer Recruitment 2025-2026 as online application form, salary, eligibility criteria, selection process, syllabus, physical test, notification, dates etc info is given below.
Indian Navy Agniveer (SSR) Recruitment
As per the Agnipath Scheme, the Agniveers will be enrolled in the Indian Navy for a period of four years. On completion of four years of service, based on organization’s requirements and policies, Agniveers will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment (Regular Cadre) in the Indian Navy.

The applications for regular cadre will be considered in centralized manner based on objective criteria including performance during their four year engagement period. Up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be enrolled in Indian Navy for further re-engagement as Sailor (Regular Cadre).
Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits – Agniveer (SSR) will be paid a package of Rs 30000 per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, risk and hardship, dress and travel allowances will be paid.
Total Number of Vacancies – The distribution of trade-wise vacancies for 02/2025, 01/2026 and 02/2026 batch for male and female will be decided based on service requirement.

Eligibility Criteria (Age, Qualification and Standards)
Age Limit:
SSR 02/2025 Batch – 17½ to 21 years on the day of enrolment i.e. Candidate should be born between 01 Sep 2004 and 29 Feb 2008 (both dates inclusive).
SSR 01/2026 Batch – 17½ to 21 years on the day of enrolment i.e. Candidate should be born between 01 Feb 2005 and 31 Jul 2008 (both dates inclusive).
SSR 02/2026 Batch – 17½ to 21 years on the day of enrolment i.e. Candidate should be born between 01 Jul 2005 and 31 Dec 2008 (both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification – 12th Pass (10+2) with Mathematics and Physics from an educational board recognized by Ministry of Education, Govt of India, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. OR
Passed 03 years diploma course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Automobiles/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from Central/ State Govt recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate. OR
Passed 02 years Vocational Course with Non-vocational subjects as Physics and Mathematics from an educational board recognized by Central/ State Govt with 50% marks in aggregate.
Candidates appearing in Class 12th board exams are also eligible to apply, provided they fulfil all the other eligibility criteria. Such candidates will be selected only if they produce the Original Marksheet during the subsequent stages of the recruitment process.
Physical and Medical Standards:
Height – Minimum 157 Cms for Male and Female candidates.
Weight – Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
Visual Standards:
Uncorrected Vision – 6/12, 6/12
Corrected Vision – 6/6, 6/6
Colour Perception – CP Pass
Candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions. Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax, and tartar removed from teeth prior to medical examination.
Tattoos – Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reversed side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body is not acceptable and candidate will be barred from recruitment.
केवल अविवाहित पुरुष और अविवाहित महिला उम्मीदवार ही भारतीय नौसेना में अग्निवीरों के रूप में भर्ती के पात्र हैं। उम्मीदवारों को नामांकन के समय ‘अविवाहित’ होने का प्रमाणपत्र देना होगा। अग्निवीर को भारतीय नौसेना में चार साल के कार्यकाल के दौरान शादी करने की अनुमति नहीं दी जाएगी। यदि अग्निवीर अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान शादी कर लेता है या हस्ताक्षरित घोषणा पत्र देने के बावजूद पहले से ही शादीशुदा पाया जाता है तो उसे सेवा से बर्खास्त कर दिया जाएगा।

Navy SSR Selection Process, Syllabus and Physical Test
Indian Navy Agniveer SSR selection process for 02/2025, 01/2026 and 02/2026 batch consists of two stages i.e. Stage-1 (INET- Indian Navy Entrance Test) and Stage-2 (Shortlisting, PFT, Written exam and Recruitment medical examination) as follows:
- Stage-1: Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)
- Stage-2: Shortlisting, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written exam and Recruitment medical examination
The original documents uploaded during online filling of application as original certificates, mark sheets, Domicile certificate and NCC certificate (if held) are to be carried by the candidates at all stages of recruitment (Written Examination, PFT and Recruitment Medical Examination and Recruitment at INS Chilka). Original documents will be verified at every stage of recruitment.
The detailed selection process for Indian Navy SSR (Agniveer) is as follows:
Indian Navy Entrance Test
Firstly, all candidates will be issued Call up Letter or Admit Card indicating date, time and place for Stage-1 (Indian Navy Entrance Test or INET). The INET exam for Agniveer (SSR) 02/2025, 01/2026 and 02/2026 batch will be conducted in May 2025 tentatively. Call up letters will be available to download through official website about 01 week before the examination date.
The question paper will be computer-based and will consist of total 100 objective type multiple choice questions (01 mark each). The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2. There will be Negative Marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer given by candidates. The question paper will be of 01 Hour duration and will comprise of 04 sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness as follows:
- English: 25 Questions (25 Marks)
- Science: 25 Questions (25 Marks)
- Mathematics: 25 Questions (25 Marks)
- General Awareness: 25 Questions (25 Marks)
Candidates are required to pass in all sections as well as in aggregate. The Indian Navy reserves the right to determine the pass marks in each section and in aggregate. Agniveer SSR Syllabus and Sample papers for the INET exam are given on: Indian Navy SSR Syllabus and Exam Sample Paper Download.
Sponsor candidates and NCC C Certificate holders will be exempted from Stage-I and will not be required to appear at the INET exam centre. These candidates will be issued call-up letter directly for Stage-II process based on eligibility.

INET Result and Shortlisting
The shortlisting of candidates for Stage-2 tests will be based on marks obtained in the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET). Based on the INET Result, candidates will be shortlisted separately for Stage-II of Agniveer (SSR) 02/2025, 01/2026 and 02/2026. Shortlisting will be carried out in state wise manner. The cut off marks for shortlisting for the next stage of selection process may vary from state to state as vacancies have been allocated in a state wise manner.
In cases where candidates having similar percentage exceed the shortlisting quota for a particular state, the shortlisting will be carried out based on DoB i.e. candidates with earlier DoB will be given priority.
Candidates shortlisted in Stage-1 will be issued Call up Letters (Admit Card) indicating date, time and place for Stage-2 (PFT, Written exam and Medical examination). Admit Card will be made available to download through official website. The tentative schedule for Agniveer (SSR) 02/2025, 01/2026 and 02/2026 Batch is given below.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Male Candidates – The PFT for male candidates will consist of 1.6 Kms run within 06 minutes 30 seconds, 20 Squats (Uthak Baithak), 15 Push-ups and 15 Bent Knee Sit-ups.
Female Candidates – The PFT for female candidates will consist of 1.6 Kms run within 08 minutes, 15 Squats (Uthak Baithak), 10 Push-ups and 10 Bent Knee Sit-ups.
Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection. Proficiency in sports, swimming and extra curricular activities is desirable.
Written Examination
Candidates qualified in Physical Fitness Test will have to go through Written Examination of 01 Hour duration. The question paper will consist of total 100 objective type questions (01 mark each) based on English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness. The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and the standard will be that of 10+2 level.
Candidates are required to pass in all sections as well as in aggregate. The Indian Navy reserves the right to determine the pass marks in each section and in aggregate.

Medical Examination
Recruitment Medical Examination will be carried out for candidates who qualify Stage-2 Written exam. Candidates qualifying recruitment medical examination will be considered for merit list. Candidates found medically UNFIT will be allowed to appeal against its findings, if they so desire, at allocated Military Hospital within a maximum period of 05 days.
The medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per medical standards prescribed in current regulations applicable on entry.
Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from teeth prior to medical examination. The candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any disease/ disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions.

Provisional Select List
Indian Navy SSR Merit list will be prepared state-wise on the basis of performance in Stage-2 Written exam subject to qualification in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Recruitment Medical Examination. Agniveer (SSR) 02/2025, 01/2026 and 02/2026 Result (merit list) will be published on candidate’s dashboard on official website. The cut off marks for issue of call up letter for recruitment at INS Chilka may vary from state to state.
Finally, all selected candidates will be called at INS Chilka for final medical examination and verification before commencement of training. The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical and medical fitness as per Medical Standards. Candidates who are found medically fit in Final Recruitment Medical Examination will be recruited as Agniveer (SSR).
All selected candidates will have to produce the self-attested certificates submitted at the time of filling online application along with the all original certificates, at INS Chilka. If the details provided during online application are not matching with the original certificates produced at INS Chilka, the candidature will be cancelled.
The training for Agniveer SSR 02/2025 batch will tentatively commence in Sep 2025, for 01/2026 batch in Feb 2026 and for 02/2026 batch in Jul 2026 at INS Chilka (Odisha).

Application form, Important Dates and Notification
Eligible and desirous candidates can apply online for the Join Indian Navy SSR Recruitment for 02/2025, 01/2026 and 02/2026 Batch through the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in from 29th Mar to 16th Apr 2025 (extended). Before submitting online application form, keep ready scanned copies of all the required documents as certificates, mark sheets, domicile certificate, NCC certificate (if held) and photograph with blue background (10-50kb).
The photograph should be front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs (not taken before March 2025). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his/her chest with his/her name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.

You are required to carry the original documents at all the stages of recruitment (Written Exam, PFT and Enrollment Medical Examination at INS Chilka) in support of documents uploaded during filling of online application. Stage-2 tests will be conducted at the designated Indian Navy’s centres. Aadhar Card will be mandatory for the tests.
Examination fee – Candidates will have to pay Rs 550/- (Rupees Five hundred fifty only) plus 18% GST during the online application through online mode by using Net Banking or Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI.
