ITBP SI Overseer Recruitment 2022-2023
Pay Scale: Rs 35400-112400 as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix level-6 plus other allowances.
Age Limit: 20 to 25 years as on 14-08-2022 i.e. candidate should be born between 15-08-1997 and 14-08-2002. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories will be applicable as per Govt rules.
Educational Qualification: 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent with diploma in Civil Engineering from a Govt recognized Institute.
Total Number of Vacancies: 37 Posts
Male – 32 (UR-07, SC-05, ST-02, OBC-15, EWS-03)
Female – 05 (UR-01, SC-01, OBC-03)

Selection Process, Physical PET PST and Exam Pattern
ITBP SI Overseer Selection process will consist of Phase-1 (Identity verification, Physical Efficiency Test/ PET and Physical Standard Test/ PST), Phase-2 (Written examination) and Phase-3 (Document verification and Medical examination). Admit Card to all eligible candidates will be issued online through the official website mentioning exam date, time and venue. You will have to carry a clear printout of online application form, admit card and documents at the recruitment exam centre.
After verification of identity and bio-metric examination at the recruitment center, candidates will have to undergo different selection tests step by step as given below.
1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Eligible candidates will have to undergo through the following Physical Efficiency Test (PET) events. The PET will be qualifying in nature and you will have to qualify each event. PET will not be held for Ex-Servicemen applied for direct entry vacancies.
Male Candidates:
Race 100 Meters – To be completed within 16 Seconds.
Race 1.6 Kms – To be completed within 07 Minutes 30 Seconds.
Female Candidates:
Race 100 Meters – To be completed within 18 Seconds.
Race 800 Meters – To be completed within 04 Minutes 45 Seconds.
2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates qualified in PET will have to undergo Physical Standard Test. Physical Standards (Height, Chest and Weight) for ITBP SI Overseer post will be measured as follows:
Height:
Gen/SC/OBC Category – Male: 170 Cms and Female 157 Cms.
Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates from Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir region of UT Jammu & Kashmir & UT Ladakh – Male: 165 Cms and Female 155 Cms.
ST Category – Male: 162.5 Cms and Female 150 Cms.
Chest (for Male candidates only):
Gen/SC/OBC Category – 80-85 Cms.
Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates from Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir region of UT Jammu & Kashmir & UT Ladakh – 80-85 Cms.
ST Category – 77-82 Cms.
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
3. Written Examination
Candidates qualified in PST will have to undergo written examination. ITBP SI Overseer Written Exam will be of maximum 200 Marks and 03 Hours duration. The question paper will be Bilingual i.e. set both in Hindi and English. The question paper will consist of objective type multiple choice questions (MCQ) on General Engineering (Civil) & Structure, General Intelligence, Awareness and Reasoning etc as per the exam pattern (syllabus) below.
General Engineering (Civil) & Structure – 160 Questions (160 Marks).
General Intelligence, Awareness and Reasoning etc – 40 Questions (40 Marks).
The pattern of written exam i.e. OMR Based or Computer Based Test (CBT) will be decided by ITBP. Sub Inspector Overseer Answer Key will be published after the written exam. The minimum cut-off percentage of marks for qualifying in written exam will be 35% for UR/EWS candidates and 33% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
4. Merit List
After completion of written exam, category wise merit lists will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the written exam. On the basis of merit, candidates will be shortlisted for Verification of original documents and Detailed Medical Examination (DME) according the category-wise vacancies.
Extended list in each category will also be prepared to cover the shortfall due to failure of candidates in Documentation, Detailed Medical Examination and Review Medical Examination (RME). However, there will be no reserve list. In case of tie in marks, candidate with older age will be placed higher in merit.
5. Verification of Original Documents
After declaration of merit lists, candidates will have to go through documentation (verification of original documents). To pass in the documentation test, candidates will have to produce all original documents/ certificates in proof of details as given in the online form. Original documents will be returned and self attested photocopies will be retained with application. The following documents/ certificates (original with photocopies) will be required for verification:
1. Educational certificates along with Degree/ Diploma Certificate.
2. Date of birth certificate (10th pass certificate).
3. SC/ST/OBC Certificate in prescribed format (as applicable).
4. OBC (NCL) Declaration (as per the prescribed format).
5. 4. EWS Certificate in prescribed format (if applicable).
6. No Objection Certificate (for Govt servants).
7. Height and Chest Relaxation certificate (if applicable).
8. Domicile Certificate/ PAN Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving License/ Voter ID Card for verification of citizenship.
9. Discharge certificate (for Ex-Serviceman).
10. Four recent passport size photographs (same as submitted with online form).
6. Medical Examination
Finally, candidates qualified in the documentation test will have to undergo Detailed Medical Examination (DME) to assess their fitness as per the Medical Standards. Candidates declared unfit during DME will be allowed to undergo Review Medical Examination (RME). The decision of ITBPF Board of Medical Officers will be final for declaring a candidate Fit or Unfit in DME/ RME.
The minimum distance vision will be 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without correction i.e. without wearing spectacles or lenses. The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins or squint in eyes. Candidate must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
Tattoos marked on traditional sites of the body like inner aspect of forearm but only left forearm, being non saluting limb or dorsum of the hands are to be allowed. Size must be less than ¼ of the particular part (Elbow or Hand) of the body.

After submission of online application, you will have to take a printout of the system generated form for further requirements at the time of selection tests. The printout of online application or any other document is not required to send by Post.
Application fee – Rs 200 (Rupees two hundred only). SC, ST, Ex-Serviceman and Female candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
