ITBP Hindi Translator Sub Inspector Recruitment 2024-2025

ITBP invited applications for filling up the following 17 Vacancies of Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) Group B by direct recruitment. ITBP Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) Recruitment

Pay Scale and Allowances – Rs 35400-112400 (as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-6).

Post will carry Dearness Allowance, Ration Money, Special Compensatory Allowance (while posted in specified border areas), free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, Free Medical Facilities and any other allowance as admissible in the Force from time to time under the rules.

Age Limit – Up to 30 years as on 26th Aug 2024 i.e. candidate should have been born between 27 Aug 1994 and 26 Aug 2006 (both dates inclusive). Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories is applicable as per Central Govt rules.

Educational Qualification – Master’s degree from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level. OR

Master’s degree from a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level. OR

Master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi/ English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level. OR

Master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi/ English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level. OR

Master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi/ English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level. AND

Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa or two years experience of translation work from Hindi to vice versa in Central/ State Govt office, including Govt of India Undertaking.

Hindi Translator Selection Process, PET PST and Exam Syllabus

The recruitment process consists of Phase-1 (Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test), Phase-2 (Written exam of 200 Marks) and Phase-3 (Documentation and Medical examination). For selection, category wise merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in written exam.

Physical Efficiency Test

After biometric identification at recruitment venue, candidates will be put through the following Physical Efficiency Test (PET) events. The PET will be only qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks.

Race:
Male candidates – 100 Meters within 16 Seconds and 1.6 Kms within 07 Minutes 30 Seconds.
Female candidates – 100 Meters within 18 Seconds and 800 Meters within 04 Minutes 45 Seconds.

Physical Standard Test

Candidates qualified in PET will have to undergo Physical Standard Test (PST). The physical standards (Height, Chest and Weight) for Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) will be measured as follows:

Height:
GEN/ SC/ OBC Category – Male: 170 Cms and Female: 157 Cms.
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra, Maratha and candidates from Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, UT of Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh – Male: 165 Cms and Female: 155 Cms.
ST/ Adivasis Category – Male: 162.5 Cms and Female: 154 Cms.

Chest (Only for Male candidates):
GEN/ SC/ OBC Category: 80-85 Cms.
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra, Maratha and candidates from Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, UT of Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh: 80-85 Cms.
ST/ Adivasis Category: 77-82 Cms.

Weight (for Male and Female): Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

Written Examination

Candidates qualified in PET and PST will be called for Written Examination (OMR or Computer Based Test/ CBT). ITBP Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) written exam will be of maximum 200 Marks consisting 02 papers as follows:

Paper-1 (1½ Hours duration):

  • General Hindi: 24 Questions (40 Marks)
  • General English: 24 Questions (40 Marks)
  • General Knowledge: 20 Questions (20 Marks)

Paper-2 (1½ Hours duration):

  • Translation: 44 Questions (70 Marks)
  • Language Communication: 02 Questions (20 Marks)
  • English Grammar: 02 Questions (10 Marks)

Minimum cut-off marks for qualifying in written exam will be 35% for UR/ EWS/ Ex-Servicemen and 33% for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates. Refer to official recruitment notification for the ITBP Hindi Translator Exam Syllabus.

After completion of written exam, category wise merit lists will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination. Thereafter, shortlisted candidates will be put through documentation (verification of original documents).

Documentation

Shortlisted candidates will have to produce all original documents/ certificates in proof of details as given in the online form. The following documents will be required at the time of documents verification:

1. Educational certificates along with Degree/ Diploma Certificate(s).
2. Date of birth certificate (10th Pass certificate).
3. Professional/ Experience certificate (if any).
4. SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS certificate (as applicable).
5. Domicile certificate/ PAN Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving License/ Voter ID Card etc for verification of citizenship.
6. Discharge certificate (for Ex-Servicemen).
7. Height/ Chest relaxation certificate (if applicable).
8. No Objection Certificate (for persons serving in Govt Services).
9. Four latest passport size photographs (same as submitted with online form).

Finally, candidates qualified in documentation will be called for Detailed Medical Examination (DME). The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical & medical fitness as per Medical Standards issued by MHA. Candidates declared unfit during DME will be allowed to undergo Review Medical Examination (RME).

Application form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates are required to register and submit online form for the ITBP Hindi Translator Sub Inspector Recruitment through the website recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in from 28th Jul to 26th Aug 2024.

To apply online for the ITBP Hindi Translator Recruitment, firstly go through the One-time Registration process (if not registered already). Then login to ITBP Recruitment website using the registered E-mail ID & Password and complete your profile with filling all the required information and uploading your latest photograph (30 kb – 100 kb) and signature (15 kb – 30 kb) in JPEG/ JPG format.

For submitting ITBP SI (Hindi Translator) Application form, open Apply link under the live applications on your dashboard and re-check the pre-filled application form details or change the details as required and then pay the application fee (if applicable).

Finally, you will have to take a printout of the submitted application form required for verification at the time of PET/ PST.

Application fee – The candidates belonging to UR, EWS and OBC Category are required to pay Rs 200/- as application fee. The application fee can be paid online by using Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card. SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and Female candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
