Eligible unmarried male candidates can apply online for the Navy Medical Assistant Bharti Vacancies (INET) through joinindiannavy.gov.in from 29th Mar to 16th Apr 2025 (extended). Indian Navy SSR (Medical Assistant) Recruitment
Pay Scale, Allowances and Promotion – Rs 14600/- per month during training period and Rs 21700-69100 (Defence Pay matrix level 3) on successful completion of initial training. In addition, MSP @ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable) will be admissible.
Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e. Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs 47600-151100) plus MSP @ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable). Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed exams and clear Services Selection Boards.

Eligibility Criteria – Indian Navy Medical Assistant eligibility criteria in terms of age limit, educational qualification, physical and medical standards is as follows:
Age Limit:
SSR (Medical) 02/2025 Batch – 17½ to 21 years on the day of enrolment i.e. candidates should be born between 01 Sep 2004 and 29 Feb 2008 (Both dates inclusive).
SSR (Medical) 02/2026 Batch – 17½ to 21 years on the day of enrolment i.e. candidates should be born between 01 Jul 2005 and 31 Dec 2008 (Both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification – 10+2 (12th Pass) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) from any recognized Boards of School Education with 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% marks in each subject.
Physical and Medical Standards:
Height – Minimum 157 Cms.
Chest – Minimum 5 Cms expansion.
Weight – Proportionate to height and age.
Visual Standards:
Uncorrected Vision – 6/12 and 6/12
Corrected Vision – 6/6 and 6/6
Colour Perception – CP Pass

SSR Medical Selection Process, Syllabus and Physical Test
Indian Navy Medical Assistant selection process includes two stages i.e. Stage-1 (INET – Indian Navy Entrance Test) and Stage-2 (Shortlisting, PFT, Written exam and Recruitment medical examination) at designated centres as follows:
- Stage-I: Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)
- Stage-II: Shortlisting, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written exam and Recruitment medical examination
The latest and detailed selection process for the Indian Navy Medical Assistant (SSR) is as follows:
Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)
Firstly, all eligible candidates will be issued Admit Card for Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) on the basis of their online application. The INET exam for SSR (Medical Assistant) 02/2025 and 02/2026 Batch will be conducted in May 2025. Based on the marks obtained in Stage-I (INET), candidates will be shortlisted separately for Stage-II for SSR (Med) 02/2025 and 02/2026.

The computer-based test will be of 01 Hour duration and will consist of total 100 objective type multiple choice questions (01 mark each). The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 level. There will be Negative Marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer given by candidates. The question paper comprises of 04 sections as follows:
- English: 25 Questions (25 Marks)
- Science: 25 Questions (25 Marks)
- Biology: 25 Questions (25 Marks)
- General Awareness/ Reasoning: 25 Questions (25 Marks)
Candidates are required to pass in all sections as well as in aggregate. The Indian Navy reserves the right to determine the pass marks in each section and in aggregate.
Sponsor candidates and NCC C Certificate holders will be exempted from Stage-I and will not be required to appear at the INET exam centre. These candidates will be issued call-up letter directly for Stage-II process based on eligibility.

Result and Shortlisting
Shortlisting of candidates for the Stage-II process of SSR (Medical) 02/2025 and 02/2026 Batch will be based on INET Result i.e. marks obtained in Stage-I. Shortlisting will be done state-wise and only shortlisted candidates will be issued call-up letter for Stage-2. The cut off marks may vary from state to state as vacancies are allocated in a state-wise manner.
In cases where candidates having similar percentage exceed the shortlisting quota for a particular state, the shortlisting will be carried out based on DoB i.e. candidates with earlier DoB will be given priority.
Candidates shortlisted in Stage-1 will be issued Call up Letters (Admit Card) indicating date, time and place for Stage-2 (PFT, Written exam and Recruitment medical examination). Admit Card will be made available to download through official website. The tentative schedule for SSR (Medical) 02/2025 and 02/2026 Batch is given below.
Candidates will have to carry the original documents like Certificates, Mark Sheets, Domicile Certificate and NCC Certificate (if held) as uploaded during online filling of application at all stages of recruitment (Stage-2 and during enrollment at INS Chilka).
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection as SSR (Medical Assistant). The PFT standards are as follows:
Male Candidates – The PFT for male candidates consists of 1.6 Kms run within 06 Minutes 30 Seconds, 20 Squats (Uthak Baithak), 15 Push-ups and 15 Bent Knee Sit-ups. Proficiency in sports, swimming and extra-curricular activities is desirable.

Written Examination
Candidates qualified in PFT will have to go through Written Exam of 01 Hour duration. The question paper will consist of total 100 objective type multiple choice questions (01 mark each) based on English, Science, Biology and General Awareness. The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and the standard will be that of 10+2 level.
Candidates are required to pass in all sections as well as in aggregate. The Indian Navy reserves the right to determine the pass marks in each section and in aggregate.
Medical Examination
Recruitment Medical Examination will be carried out for candidates who qualify PFT and Written exam. Candidates declared FIT in Recruitment Medical Examination will be considered for merit list. Candidates found medically UNFIT will be allowed to appeal against its findings, if they so desire, at allocated military hospital within a maximum period of 05 days.
The medical examination will be conducted by authorised military doctors as per medical standards prescribed in current regulations applicable on entry.
Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from teeth prior to medical examination. The candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any disease/ disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions.
Tattoos – Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner lace of forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reversed side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body is not acceptable and candidate will be barred from recruitment.
Provisional Select List
The Provisional Select List will be prepared on the basis of performance in Stage-II Written exam, subject to qualification in Physical Fitness Test and Recruitment Medical Examination. SSR Medical Assistant Merit List will be based on a state wise merit. The cut off marks for issue of call up letter for recruitment at INS Chilka may vary from state to state.
Navy Medical Assistant Result for 02/2025 and 02/2026 Batch will be published on candidate’s dashboard on the official website. Basic training for SSR (Medical) 02/2025 will commence in Sep 2025 and for SSR (Medical) 02/2026 will commence in Jul 2026 at INS Chilka, Odisha followed by Professional training. The initial engagement is for a period of 20 years, subject to successful completion of training.
The Stage-II process and Provisional Select List will be separate for SSR (Medical) 02/2025 and 02/2026 batches. Candidates who are not selected in SSR (Med) 02/2025 can not automatically claim for selection in 02/2026 batch.

Eligible and interested male candidates are required to apply online for the Indian Navy Medical Assistant Recruitment for the 02/2025 and 02/2026 Batch on the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in from 29th Mar to 16th Apr 2025 (extended).
Before filling online application, keep ready your active e-mail ID, mobile number and scanned copies of all the required documents as matriculation certificate, 10+2 mark sheet, domicile certificate, NCC certificate (if held) and photograph (10-50kb).
The photograph should be front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs (taken not before Mar 2025). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
