Indian Coast Guard Navik GD DB Yantrik Recruitment 2025

Indian Coast Guard invited applications for filling up the following 320 Vacancies of Navik (General Duty) and Yantrik against CGEPT 01/2025 Batch. All eligible 10th/ 12th pass male Indian citizens can apply online for the ICG Navik GD DB Yantrik Bharti Vacancies through joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in up to 03rd Jul 2024. ICG Bharti Navik GD Yantrik (CGEPT 01/2025)

Pay Scale and Promotion:
Navik (General Duty and Domestic Branch) – Basic pay of Rs 21700 (Pay Level-3) plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty/place of posting as per the prevailing regulations.
Yantrik – Basic pay of Rs 29200 (Pay Level-5) and Yantrik pay @ Rs 6200 plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty/place of posting as per the prevailing regulations.

Promotion prospects exist upto the rank of Pradhan Adhikari/ Pradhan Sahayak Engineer with pay scale Rs 47600 (Pay Level-8) plus Yantrik pay @ Rs 6200 with Dearness Allowance. Promotion to the Officer cadre is subject to suitability and performance.

ICG Navik GD, Navik DB and Yantrik recruitment notification for the 1st Batch and 2nd Batch cycle is generally released in June/ July and November/ December respectively. For the current CGEPT 01/2025 batch, there are total 320 vacancies for Navik GD and Yantrik Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics (vacancies for Navik DB are not advertised) as per the post and category wise distribution below:

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Educational Qualification)

Age Limit – Minimum 18 Years and maximum 22 years. Candidates must be born between 01 Mar 2003 and 28 Feb 2007 (both dates inclusive) applying for the posts of Navik GD and Yantrik.
Upper age relaxation of 05 years for SC/ ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy) candidates is applicable only if posts are reserved for them.

Educational Qualification:
Navik GD – 12th Pass (10+2) with Maths and Physics from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
Navik DB – 10th Pass from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
Yantrik – 10th Pass from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/ Power) Engineering of duration 03 or 04 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). OR

10th and 12th Pass from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/ Power) Engineering of duration 02 or 03 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Job Profile (Duties) of Navik GD, DB and Yantrik

Navik (General Duty) – Navik GD serves onboard ships and ashore for various duties, as an Enrolled Personnel. The candidates are allotted specialization trade on completion of basic training at INS Chilka. The trades/ specialization is allotted on the performance of the candidate in the training and the requirement of the service.

Navik (Domestic Branch) – Navik DB provide logistics support to the Ships Company onboard ship and ashore as Cook and Steward as follows:

Cook: They would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for efficient running of the organisation.

Steward: They would be required to serve food in the Officer’s mess as waiters, housekeeping, maintenance and accounting of funds, wine and stores handling, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for efficient running of the organisation.

Yantrik – Yantrik serves on-board ships and aircraft as per the branch allocated to them (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power)) at INS Chilka. They are responsible to maintain all types of the machinery/ equipment fitted on-board Ships/ Aircraft/ Station. They are also required to maintain the adequate level of spares and accounting of the spares.

ICG Navik Selection Process, Physical and Exam Schedule

The recruitment process consists of Stage 1 (Computer based exam), Stage 2 (PFT, Document verification and Medical exam), Stage 3 (Document verification, Final Medical and Submission of original document, police verification and other associated forms) and Stage 4 (Verification of all original documents through Boards/ Universities/ State Govt). The recruitment tests for ICG Navik (GD), Navik (DB) and Yantrik will be conducted as per the tentative schedule given below.

The E-Admit Card with exact exam centre address will be available in candidate login and email will be sent on registered email id only 02-03 days before the exam date. The result of each stage of selection procedure from stage-1 to stage-3 can be accessed by login to the ICG website. The result of the online examination at stage-1 will be announced tentatively within 30 days.

Candidates who qualify in all the tests (online exam, PFT, medical examination and document verification) will be selected for the training depending upon available vacancies. The basic training for Navik GD and Yantriks will commence tentatively in early/mid Apr 2025 at INS Chilka followed by sea training and professional training in the allotted trade (branch/ trade will be allocated as per requirement of service and performance during basic training).

Medical and Physical Standards:
Height – Minimum 157 Cms (Relaxation upto 05 Cms for candidates having domicile of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Garhwal, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Height standards may be reduced by upto 02 Cms for candidates having domicile of Lakshadweep.).
Chest – Minimum 5 Cms expansion.
Weight – Proportionate to height and age (±10 percentage acceptable).
Hearing – Normal.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) – Candidates qualified in written exam will be allowed to appear for Physical fitness test (PFT). The PFT will consist of 1.6 Kms run within 07 minutes, 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups.

The tentative schedule of examination/ downloading admit card for the Indian Coast Guard Navik GD and Yantrik 01/2025 Batch is as follows:

  • Stage I: Mid/ End September 2024.
  • Stage II: Mid/ End November 2024.
  • Stage II: Early/ Mid April 2025.

Online Application Form, Required Documents and Notification

Eligible and desirous candidates can apply online for the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment Defence Vacancies through the website joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in up to 03rd Jul 2024. You can apply for only one post i.e either Navik GD or Navik DB or Yantrik (Mechanical) or Yantrik (Electrical) or Yantrik (Electronics) in one cycle. Before applying online, keep ready valid email id, mobile number and scanned copies of passport size colour photograph, signature, thumb impression image and required documents as given in detail below.

For submitting online application form, you will have to complete all the Registration parts (Part- I, II, III and IV) with filling the required details carefully as per the instructions provided. After successful submission of online form, take printout of system generated application form for exams of various stages. For detailed instructions you are advised to go through the ICG Recruitment notice for CGEPT 02/2024 Batch.

Documents to be uploaded with application – Candidates are required to upload documents in two phases. The size of all the documents to be uploaded should be between 10kb to 100kb in pdf/ jpeg/ jpg/ png format. Few documents are required at the online application stage and few documents (NCC Certificate, Sports Certificate etc) are required to be uploaded if shortlisted for stage-2.

The candidates are required to scan the original documents (neither photocopy nor self-attested photocopy) as applicable for the post applied and upload in the online application.

Required Documents to upload with online application:

  • Passport size recent colour photograph not older than 03 months (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photographs is to taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
  • Live image capture during registration.
  • Candidate’s scanned signature image.
  • Scanned Clear Left-Hand Thumb Impression Image.
  • Date of Birth Certificate (10th class mark sheet or Birth Certificate in English/ Hindi).
  • Photo Identity proof (Aadhar Card or Voter ID or Passport or PAN Card or Driving License).
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable).
  • Service Certificate/ NOC if candidate is serving ICG Personnel or civilian.

Documents to be uploaded if shortlisted for Stage-2:
1. 10th class Mark sheet.
2. 10th class Certificate.
3. EWS/ SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer) Certificate (if applicable) (download format- EWS Certificate, SC/ ST Certificate and OBC Certificate).
4. Formula for conversion of CGPA/ Grade into percentage.
5. NOC from Govt Organization if the candidate is employed.

Additional documents to be uploaded for Navik (GD) Stage-2:
1. 12th class Mark sheet.

Additional documents to be uploaded for Yantrik Stage-2:

At the Stage-1 exam centre, you will have to carry coloured printout of E-admit card along with Photo ID card (as mentioned on application) and SC/ ST/ OBC candidates will have to carry original caste certificate with 02 photocopies (self-attested). The exam date, time, centre and other information will be intimated through the official website.

Examination fee – Candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay Rs 300/- through online mode by using Net Banking/ Visa/ Master/ Maestro/ Rupay Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI. Admit card will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee and who are entitled for waiver of exam fee.
