Indian Air Force has released notification to organize airmen recruitment rally for all the districts of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and UTs of J&K, Chandigarh and Ladakh for Intake 01/2025. The recruitment test for Airmen Group Y (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant trade will be held at Base Repair Depot, Air Force, Chandigarh from 03rd July to 12th July 2024. Indian Air Force Medical Assistant Recruitment
All eligible married/ unmarried Male Indian/ Gorkha (A Subject of Nepal) Citizens from the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and UTs of J&K, Chandigarh and Ladakh fulfilling the domicile requirements can participate in this Recruitment Rally as per the Selection Programme below.
Pay and Allowances – Rs 14600/- per month during training and Rs 26900/- per month including Military Service Pay (MSP) will be paid on completion of training. In addition, dearness allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.
Job Specification – As a Medical Assistant, you are to be trained in nursing and first-aid. You will also be involved in management of medical stores, dispensaries and ward supervision and other Air Force duties.

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Educational Qualification)
Age Limit:
Medical Assistant trade (with 10+2) – Candidate should be unmarried and born between 02 Jan 2004 and 02 Jan 2008 (both days inclusive).
Medical Assistant trade (with Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy) – Unmarried candidate should be born between 02 Jan 2001 and 02 Jan 2006 (both dates inclusive). Married candidate should be born between 02 Jan 2001 and 02 Jan 2004 (both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification:
Medical Assistant trade – Candidate should have passed 10+2/ Intermediate/ Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% marks in English. OR
02 years vocational course with non-vocational subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Medical Assistant trade (with Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy) – Candidate should have passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
In addition, Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy with minimum 50% marks in aggregate with valid registration from State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) at the time of enrolment will be mandatory requirement.

Medical Assistant Selection Process, Physical and Exam Syllabus
IAF Airmen Medical Asst selection process consists of the following five stages:
- Verification of Eligibility
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Written Test (OMR Based)
- Adaptability Test-2
- Medical examination
For selection as Airmen, Provisional Select List (PSL) will be prepared and the inclusion of candidates in the PSL will depend upon their performance in the recruitment rally. Final enrolment will be strictly in order of merit from the PSL subject to medical fitness, availability of vacancies and meeting other eligibility criteria.
The detailed selection process is as follows:
Verification of Eligibility
Firstly, the following certificates/ documents will be scrutinized/ verified at the examination venue prior to commencement of Physical Fitness Test:
Original Educational Certificates (10th passing Certificate, 12th passing Certificate & mark sheet and Original Degree/ Diploma Certificate & Mark Sheets of B.Sc/ Diploma in Pharmacy).
Other required applicable original documents like NCC A, B or C certificate, Son of serving Air Force Personnel (SOAFP) certificate (or), Discharge Book, Service Book, Service Particular Certificate/ Casualty Service Certificate (or) Discharge Certificate (if discharged from Army/ Navy/ Govt organisation), Consent form, passport size colour photographs and domicile proof.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
After verification of eligibility you will be put through Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The PFT consists of 1.6 Kms run within 07 minutes (for candidates up to the age of 21 Years) and 07 minutes 30 Seconds (for candidates above 21 years of age and holding Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy).
In addition, candidates will have to complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.

Written Test
Candidates qualified in PFT will be put through OMR based Written Test of maximum 50 Marks on the same day. The written test will be objective type and the question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi) except for English paper. The written test will be of 45 Minutes duration and will comprise of questions based on English (as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) as per the pattern below:
- English: 20 Questions (20 Marks)
- Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA): 30 Questions (30 Marks)
The Written Test Result will be declared on the same day and you will have to qualify in each paper separately. Negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applicable for each wrong answer or choosing more than one option as answer.

Adaptability Test
Candidates declared pass in the Written Test will have to go undergo Adaptability Test-2 on the same or subsequent day depending on the local conditions. Adaptability Test-2 is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the Military way of life. Adaptability Test-1 (objective type written test) has been discontinued by the Indian Air Force.
Medical Examination
Candidates qualified in Adaptability Test-2 will be medically examined in the month of July 2024 at SMC, Air Force Station Ambala. The medical examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards.
Medical Standards:
Height – Minimum 152.5 Cms.
Chest – The chest should be well proportioned and well developed with the minimum range of expansion of 5 Cms.
Weight – Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.
Visual Acuity – 6/36 each eye and correctable to 6/9 each.
Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 06 meters with each ear separately and should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages.
Candidate should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
Body Tattoo – Permanent body tattoos are not permitted, however tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms(inside of elbow to the wrist), back(dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of the palm and Tribals with tattoos which are as per custom Traditions of their tribes may be considered. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit two photographs (close up and distinct view) with details of size and type of the Tattoo.
The Provisional Select List (PSL) for Intake 01/2025 will be published at 1 Airmen Selection Centre, Ambala Cantt (Haryana) on 11th November 2024 (including separate PSL for Diploma/ B.Sc in Pharmacy holders). The final Enrolment List for Airmen Intake 01/2025 will be published on 28th November 2024. The PSL/ Enrolment List will also be available at Central Airmen Selection Board (CASB) website airmenselection.cdac.in.

Online Registration, Required Documents and Notification
Candidates fulfilling the domicile requirements and eligibility conditions are required to submit online registration form for the IAF Chandigarh Recruitment Rally on web portal airmenselection.cdac.in from 22nd May to 05th June 2024. Thereafter, candidates will have to report at Base Repair Depot, Air Force, Chandigarh (rally venue) as per the date and time mentioned in Provisional Admit Card.
Registration Fee – Candidate will have to pay Rs. 100/- plus GST through online mode while registering for the Recruitment Rally. The payment can be made by using Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking/ UPI.

- HB Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Glue Stick, Stapler and Black & Blue Ball Point Pen for writing.
- Ten un-attested recent (taken not before 06 months) passport size colour photographs (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his Name and Date of Photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
- Original and 04 self-attested photocopies of Matriculation passing certificate (required for Date of Birth verification).
- Original and 04 self-attested photocopies of 10+2/ Intermediate/ Equivalent examination passing certificate and marks sheet.
