Indian Army HQ Northern Command has released an advertisement for filling up the following Defence Civilian Group C Vacancies for the AMC Units under the Command. Pay Scale:
Cook and LDC – Rs 19900-63200 (Pay Level-2).
Barber, Chowkidar, Washerman, Safaiwali, Tradesman Mate, Ward Sahayika, Messenger and Safaiwala – Rs 18000-56900 (Pay Level-1).

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Educational Qualification)

Age Limit (As on application closing date):
General Category – 18 to 25 years.
OBC Category – 18 to 28 years.
SC/ST Category – 18 to 30 years.
Physical Handicap (PH) – UR: 18 to 35 years, OBC: 18 to 38 years and SC/ST: 18 to 40 years.
ESM (Ex-Serviceman) – Service rendered in Army/ Navy/ Air Force shall be deducted from actual age and resultant age should not be exceeding the maximum age limit i.e. 25 years prescribed for the post by more than three years.

Educational Qualification:
Barber – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board with proficiency in Barber’s Trade Job. As a desirable qualification, candidate should have 01 year experience in the trade.

Cook – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate must have knowledge of Indian cooking and proficiency in trade.

Washerman – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate must be able to the wash Military/ Civilian Clothes thoroughly well.

Ward Sahayika – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Experience as a Dai in family wing of civil hospital or three years experience in trade of Dai in a Govt department.

LDC – 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. English typing @ 35 wpm on computer OR Hindi typing @ 30 wpm on computer (35/30 words per minute corresponding to 10500/9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word.

Chowkidar, Safaiwali, Tradesman Mate, Messenger and Safaiwala – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. As a desirable qualification, candidate should be Conversant with the duties of the respective trade with 01 year experience in the trade.

HQ Northern Command Bharti Process and Exam Syllabus

The selection process will consist of written exam and skill/ trade test (as applicable). Candidates whose application is found to be correct and who are eligible for written exam/ skill test will be called through Admit Card. In case of large number of applications, the Command may restrict the number of candidates for written examination on the basis of either percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification or experience.

The recruitment tests will be conducted in Udhampur (J&K). Exam date, time and venue for the written exam/ trade test for the Civilian Group C Posts will be intimated through Admit Card (Call letter) by the HQ Northern Command.

Written Examination – The written test will consist of objective type multiple choice questions of 10th/ 12th standard as per the minimum essential qualification for the post. The written exam might be of 02 Hours duration consisting of total 150 questions (01 Mark each) of maximum 150 Marks. The question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) and will comprise of questions based on General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Awareness, General English and Numerical Aptitude as per the syllabus below:

General Intelligence and Reasoning – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
General Awareness – 50 Questions (50 Marks)
General English – 50 Questions (50 Marks)
Numerical Aptitude – 25 Questions (25 Marks)

Candidates qualified in written examination will be allowed to appear in the Skill/ Trade Test of qualifying in nature. For selection, final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in written exam subject to medical fitness, character verification, education and caste verification.

Application Form, Required Documents and Notification

Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the HQ Northern Command Bharti Civilian Defence Vacancies on the prescribed application form downloaded through the direct link below. Send application form complete in all respect along with the following required documents through Registered Post/ Speed Post to the “Command Military Dental Centre, (Northern Command), NCSR Gate, Opp Army Public School Junior Wing, Udhampur (J&K) PIN-182101, c/o 56 APO” so as to reach on or before the closing date.

Envelope containing application must be superscribed in Capital letters on the top as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF _____________”. SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ ESM/ PWD candidates have to write their category on the left hand corner of the envelope.

Required documents – Self-attested photocopies of the following documents/ certificates must be attached with the application form:
1. Birth certificate (10th Pass certificate/ marksheet).
2. Valid Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC.
3. Education Certificates along with mark sheets.
4. PPO and Discharge book (for Ex-Servicemen).
5. EWS Certificate (if applicable).
6. Disability certificate (if applicable).
7. Four (02) additional recent passport size photographs.
08. Experience certificate (if any).
09. One (01) self addressed envelope.
10. Postal Order of Rs 100 as application fee.

Application fee:
Candidates will have to pay Rs 100/- in the form of Postal Order in favour of “COMDT, CMDC (NC) REGT FUND A/C”. SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and PH candidates are exempted from application fee.
