CISF ASI Steno HC Ministerial Selection Process 2022-2023
CISF has released PST/ Documentation Admit Card for ASI Steno and HC Min Recruitment. The PST/ Documentation is scheduled to be conducted from 30th January to 18th February 2023 at 62 centres across the Country. CISF HC Min and ASI Steno selection tests will be conducted at respective recruitment centers. Candidates whose application forms are found to be in order will be issued admit card/ call letter through cisfrectt.in. The Call Letter (Admit Card) for PST, Documentation, Written Test, Skill test and Medical Exam will be uploaded on the website at each stage during the recruitment process.
Candidates will have to undergo different stages of recruitment process in the sequence as follows:
1. Height Bar Test (HBT)
2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
3. Documentation
4. OMR or Computer Based Written Exam
5. Skill Test (Stenography/ Typing test)

CISF HC ASI Selection Procedure
Candidates will have to undergo different stages of recruitment process as per the details below:
Height Bar Test (HBT)
Firstly, candidates will be asked to go through the Height Bar. Then qualified candidates will undergo biometric registration (Left thumb impression (LTI)/ Right thumb impression (RTI)/ Fingers impression) before PST.
Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates qualified in Height Bar Test will be allowed for Physical Standard Test (PST). CISF HC Ministerial and ASI Stenographer Height, Chest & Weight (Physical Standards) will be measured as follows:
Height:
General/ SC/ OBC Category: Male-165 Cms and Female-155 Cms.
ST Category: Male-162.5 Cms and Female-150 Cms.
Relaxation for candidates belonging to Garhwalis, Kumaoni, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates from the states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir: Male-162.5 Cms and Female-150 Cms.
Chest (Only for Male candidates):
Gen/SC/OBC Category: Unexpanded-77 Cms and Expanded-82 Cms.
ST Category: Unexpanded-76 Cms and Expanded-81 Cms.
Weight (Male and Female candidates): Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
Documentation (Verification of Original Documents)
Candidates qualified in PST will be allowed to appear for checking of original documents. In this stage candidates will have to produce all original documents/ certificates in proof of details as given in the application form. In addition to the original documents, you will have to carry one set of self attested Photocopy of educational and caste etc documents/ certificates. The following documents will be required for verification:
1. Educational certificates to prove age, name and educational qualification.
2. Date of birth certificate (10th pass certificate).
3. SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS certificate in the prescribed format (if applicable).
4. Domicile certificate.
5. ID proof (PAN/ Aadhar/ Driving License/ Voter ID).
6. Discharge Certificate and undertaking in the prescribed format (for Ex-Serviceman).
7. Height & Chest Relaxation certificate in the prescribed format (if applicable).
8. Certificate from employer in the prescribed format (for departmental candidates including CISF candidates).
9. Photographs.
Written Examination (OMR or Computer Based Test)
Candidates qualified in PST and Documentation will be allowed to appear in the Written Test (OMR)/ Computer Based Test. The exam date, time and venue will be informed to candidates only through the official website cisfrectt.in. The identity of all candidates will be verified with the biometric credentials registered at the time of PST & Documentation before Written Examination.
Exam Syllabus – CISF HC Ministerial and ASI Steno written exam will be of maximum 02 Hours duration and will consist of total 100 objective type multiple choice questions (01 mark each). The question paper will be of 12th standard and will be set both in Hindi and English. There will be no negative marking.
The exam will comprise of 04 parts and the questions will be based on General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Arithmetic and General English or Hindi as the pattern below:
- General Intelligence – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
- General Knowledge – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
- Arithmetic – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
- General English or Hindi – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
The minimum percentage of marks for qualifying for next stage will be 35% for General/ EWS/ Ex-Serviceman (ESM) and 33% for SC/ST/OBC category. Written Exam Answer Key and Result will be uploaded on the official website after the examination.
Skill Test
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance/ marks scored in written exam and cut off marks (category wise) will be called for the Skill Test of qualifying in nature. The skill test for Head Constable (Ministerial) and Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer) will be conducted as per the prescribed norms below:
Skill test norms on computer:
Head Constable (Ministerial) – English Typing with minimum speed of 35 WPM on computer or Hindi Typing with minimum speed of 30 WPM on computer. 35 WPM in English and 30 WPM in Hindi are corresponding to 10500 KDPH in English and 9000 KDPH in Hindi respectively with average of 5 key depressions for each word on computer.
Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer) – Dictation: 10 minutes @ 80 words per minute and Transcription: 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on computer.
Medical Examination
After the skill test, candidates will be called for Medical Examination on the basis of merit position in written exam and cut-off marks in each post and each category depending on the number of vacancies in each post and each category. The candidates will be medically examined by the Medical Boards to assess their physical and medical fitness as per the Medical Standards. Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect.
Finally, category wise merit list for General, SC, ST, OBC, LDCE, Female and Ex-servicemen will be drawn separately on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in written exam. SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates, who are selected on their own merit without relaxed standards along with candidates belonging to other communities, will not be adjusted against the reserved share of vacancies as per their position in the overall Merit List.
