ASC Centre South 2 ATC Group C Civilian Recruitment

Ministry of Defence ASC Centre (South) has released notification for filling up the following Civilian Group C Vacancies at various Stations. All eligible Indian citizens can apply for the ASC Centre Bharti Vacancies of CCI, Cook, MTS, Civil Motor Driver, Cleaner, Fire Engine Driver and Tradesman Mate on the paper application form (offline). Ministry of Defence ASC Centre (South) Recruitment

Pay Scale:
MTS (Chowkidar), Cleaner and Tradesman Mate – Rs 18000-56900 (Pay Level-1) plus DA and other allowances as admissible.
CCI, Cook and Civilian Motor Driver (OG) – Rs 19900-63200 (Pay Level-2) plus DA and other allowances as admissible.
Fire Engine Driver – Rs 21700-69100 (Pay Level-3) plus DA and other allowances as admissible.

Total Number of Vacancies – 41 Posts

  • Civilian Catering Instructor (CCI): 03 (Bangalore-03)
  • Cook: 01 (Pune-01)
  • MTS (Chowkidar): 01 (Mahajan MFFR-01)
  • Civil Motor Driver (OG): 25 (Pathankot-02, Bengdubi-04, Khaprails-02, Siliguri-09, Bhatinda-02, Hassimara-05, Pune-01)
  • Cleaner: 02 (Kalka-02)
  • Fire Engine Driver: 01 (Suratgarh-01)
  • Tradesman Mate: 08 (Pathankot-01, Limakhong-02, Narangi-01, Mahajan MFFR-01, Gangtok-01, Lebong-01, Pattan-01)

Eligibility Criteria (Age and Qualification)

Eligibility criteria like age limit, educational qualification and experience/ proficiency for the ASC Centre Recruitment is as follows:

Age Limit:

CCI, Cook, MTS, Cleaner, Fire Engine Driver and Tradesman Mate – 18 to 25 years as on application closing date.
Civil Motor Driver (OG) – 18 to 27 years as on application closing date.

Relaxation in upper age limit up to 05 years for SC/ST, up to 03 years for OBC, up to 10 years for PH (UR), up to 13 years for PH (OBC NCL), up to 15 years for PH (SC/ST) and service rendered in Armed Forces plus 03 years for Ex-Servicemen.

Educational Qualification:

Civilian Catering Instructor (CCI) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification and Diploma/ Certificate in catering from any recognized Board/ Institution. As a desirable qualification candidate should have 01 year working experience in catering as instructor.

Cook – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate must have knowledge of Indian cooking and proficiency in trade. As a desirable qualification candidate should have 01 year experience in the trade.

MTS (Chowkidar) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate should be proficient in trade work.

Civil Motor Driver (OG) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate should have driving licence for both Heavy and Light motor vehicles with at least 02 years experience in driving.

Cleaner – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate should be proficient in trade work.

Fire Engine Driver (Fireman) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate should be proficient in trade work. Candidate must have valid driving licence with at least 03 years experience of driving Heavy vehicles.

Tradesman Mate – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate should be proficient in trade work.

Selection Process, Physical Test and Exam Syllabus

The selection process consists of Practical/ Skill/ Physical test (as applicable), Written exam and Medical examination. The recruitment tests will be conducted at ASC Centre (South) Bangalore (Karnataka). Date and time for the tests will be intimated in Admit Card (Call letter) through Email/ SMS only to individuals whose applications received through Post and are found correct in all respects after scrutiny.

In case of large number of applications received for one category of post, screening of application will be carried out on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in essential qualification exam. A cutoff percentage may be fixed by board depending upon number of applications received. No weightage will be given for additional/ higher qualification.

Physical Standards and Endurance Test

Tradesman Mate:
Physical Endurance Test – 1.5 Kms run within 06 Minutes and Carrying a weight 50 Kgs to 200 Meters distance within 100 Seconds.

Fire Engine Driver:
Physical Standards – Height: 165 Cms, Chest: 81.5-85 Cms and Weight: 50 Kgs.

Physical Endurance Test – Carrying a man (fireman lift of 63.5 Kgs to 183 Meters distance within 96 Seconds), 2.7 Meters long jump and Vertical rope climbing (03 Meters).

Practical/ Skill test (as applicable) for all other posts will be conducted by ASC Centre (South) as per the norms.

Written Examination

Candidates qualified in Practical/ Skill/ Physical test (as applicable) will be allowed for OMR based written exam. The written test will be of 02 Hours duration consisting total 150 objective type questions (01 Mark each) of maximum 150 Marks. The questions will be of 10th standard. Negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applicable for each wrong answer.

The question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) and will comprise of questions based on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, General English and Numerical Aptitude as follows:

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 25 Questions (25 Marks)
  • General Awareness: 50 Questions (50 Marks)
  • General English: 50 Questions (50 Marks)
  • Numerical Aptitude: 25 Questions (25 Marks)

Written Examination Syllabus:

General Intelligence and Reasoning – The test will include questions of non verbal type and may include questions on analogies, similarities and difference, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision marking, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, figure classification, arithmetical number series and non-verbal series.

The test will also include question designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical function.

General Awareness – The question will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society, knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects.

The test also includes questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution and Scientific research etc.

General English – The questions will be designed to test candidate’s understanding the Basic of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, writing ability etc.

Numerical Aptitude – The test will include questions on problems relating to Number systems, Computation of whole numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operation, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, use of Table and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and distance, Ratio & Time, Time and work etc.

For selection, final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in written exam subject to qualifying the Practical/ Skill/ Physical test (as applicable), medical examination, police verification, education and caste verification. On final selection, the candidate will be liable for All India Service Liabilities.

Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the ASC Centre Defence Vacancies in the prescribed application form (offline) by downloading directly through the link below. You will have to apply for only one post as the written tests will be conducted simultaneously for all posts.

Send the application form complete in all respect along with the following required documents through Ordinary Post/ Registered Post/ Speed Post to “The Presiding Officer, Civilian Direct Recruitment Board, CHQ, ASC Centre (South) – 2 ATC, Agram Post, Bangalore -07” so as to reach on or before the closing date.

Envelope containing application must be superscribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF _____________” and Overall Percentage in 10th Class as per the format for application cover envelope provided with recruitment notice.

Required Documents – You will have to attach self-attested copies of following certificate/ documents with the application form:

  • Self-attested copies of all required Certificates/ Documents.
  • Aadhar card.
  • Domicile certificate.
  • Matriculation (10th Pass) Certificate and Mark sheet.
  • Experience/ Proficiency certificate (as applicable).
  • Valid Caste/ Category certificate (for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH (PwD)/ ESM/ EWS).
  • Driving license (as applicable).
  • Discharge certificate (for Ex-servicemen).
  • No Objection Certificate (for serving candidates).
  • Medical/ Disability certificate as per the prescribed format (for PH Category).
  • Undertaking as per the prescribed format (for OBC candidates).
  • Two self-attested photographs with candidate’s name and father’s name on back side.
  • One self addressed registered envelope duly fixed with appropriate postal stamps.
  • Admit Card in duplicate as per the prescribed format.
