Indian Army has released a bharti notification for filling up the following Defence Civilian Vacancies at HQ Western Command and formations under Western Command. All eligible Indian citizens can apply for the Group C posts of Librarian, Steno, LDC, Fireman, Daftry, Messenger, Barber, Washerman and Range Chowkidar in the prescribed application form (offline) downloaded from indianarmy.nic.in. Age Limit (All Posts) – 18 to 25 years as on the closing date for receipt of application (relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ ST/ OBC/ ESM will be applicable as per Govt rules).
Educational Qualification:
Librarian – Bachelor of Arts/ Science/ Commerce Degree and Bachelor of Library Science Degree from a recognized University/ Institution.
Steno Grade II and LDC – 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board.
Fireman, Daftry, Messenger, Barber, Washerman and Range Chowkidar – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board

Western Command Bharti Process, physical and Exam Syllabus
The selection process will consist of physical standard & physical endurance test (for Fireman post only), written exam and skill test (for Steno and LDC posts only). Candidates whose application is found to be correct and who are eligible for physical/ written exam will be called through Admit Card. To reduce the number of candidates for written examination for one category of post, screening of application will be carried out based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed minimum essential qualification.
The recruitment tests will be conducted at Ambala Military Station (Haryana). Exam date, time and venue for the physical tests/ written exam for all categories will be intimated through Admit Card (Call letter) by Central Recruiting Agency, HQ PH & HP (I) Sub Area, PIN – 901207, C/o 56 APO.
For the post of Fireman, candidates must have to qualify the mandatory physical requirements and physical endurance tests as per the standards below:
Physical Standard Test – Height: 165 Cms (relaxation of 2.5 Cms for ST candidates), Chest: 81.5-85 Cms and Weight: 50 Kgs.
Physical Endurance Test – Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet (long jump), Carrying a man of 63.5 Kgs to 183 Meters distance within 96 Seconds and Climbing 03 meters vertical rope using hands and feet.
Written Examination – The written test will consist of OMR based objective type multiple choice questions of Graduation/ 12th/ 10th standard as per the minimum essential qualification for the post. The written exam will be of 02 Hours duration consisting of total 150 objective type questions (01 Mark each) of maximum 150 Marks. The question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) and will comprise of questions based on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, General English and Numerical Aptitude as per the syllabus below:
General Intelligence and Reasoning – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
Numerical Aptitude – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
General English – 50 Questions (50 Marks)
General Awareness – 50 Questions (50 Marks)
The skill tests for Steno Grade II and LDC posts will be conducted after written test and will be qualifying in nature.
For selection, final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in written test subject to qualifying the physical/ skill test (as applicable), medical fitness test, police verification, education and caste verification. On final selection, the candidate will be liable for All India Service Liabilities including field service.

Application Form, Required Documents and Notification
Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the Indian Army Western Command Bharti Civilian Defence Vacancies on the prescribed application form downloaded from the website indianarmy.nic.in through the direct link below. Send application form complete in all respect along with the following required documents through Ordinary Post/ Registered Post/ Speed Post to the “Central Recruiting Agency (CRA), HQ PH & HP (I) Sub Area, PIN-901207, C/o 56 APO” so as to reach on or before the closing date.
Envelope containing application must be superscribed in bold letters on the top as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF Librarian/ Steno Grade II/ LDC/ Fireman/ Daftry/ Messenger/ Barber/ Washerman/ Range Chowkidar and Category UR/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ EX-SERVICEMAN” (Delete whichever is not applicable).
Required documents – Self-attested photocopies of the following documents/ certificates must be attached with the application form:
1. Birth certificate (10th Pass certificate/ marksheet).
2. Medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner for physical fitness.
3. Valid Caste Certificate for SC/ST.
4. Valid Caste Certificate for OBC as per prescribed format.
5. Education Certificates along with mark sheets.
6. Discharge certificate for Ex-Servicemen and letter/ NOC from CO/ OC of unit in case of serving personnel who are in last year of discharge/ retirement duly countersigned by respective OIC (Records).
7. Certificate/ undertaking for employment in units in Western Command or anywhere in India as per prescribed format.
8. EWS Certificate in prescribed format (if applicable).
9. Four (04) additional recent passport size photographs.
10. Aadhar Card and one ID proof.
11. Call letter as per prescribed format (Appendix E).
12. One (01) self addressed registered envelope (Size 12×18 Cms) with Rs 25/- postage stamps.

Last date for receipt of application form – Within 21 days from the date of publication of this advertisement.
