Eligibility Criteria (Age and Educational Qualification)
Age Limit (As on application closing date):
General (UR) Category – 18 to 25 years.
OBC Category – 18 to 28 years.
SC/ST Category – 18 to 30 years.
Physical Handicap (PH) – UR: 18 to 35 years, OBC: 18 to 38 years and SC/ST: 18 to 40 years.
ESM (Ex-Serviceman) – Service rendered in Army/ Navy/ Air Force shall be deducted from actual age and resultant age should not be exceeding the maximum age limit i.e. 25 years prescribed for the post by more than three years.
Educational Qualification:
Steno Grade II – 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University. Skill test norms- Dictation: 10 minutes @ 30 words per minute and Transcription: 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on computer.
LDC – 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Skill test norms- Typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer.
Cook – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate must have knowledge of Indian cooking and proficiency in trade.
MTS (Daftry, Messenger, Safaiwala and Chowkidar) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. As a desirable qualification candidate should have one year experience in the trade.

HQ Southern Command Bharti Process and Exam Syllabus
The selection process will consist of written exam and practical/ skill test (as applicable). Candidates whose application is found to be correct and who are eligible for written exam/ skill test will be called through Admit Card. In case of large number of applications, the department may reduce the number of candidates for written examination for one category of post. Screening of application will be carried out based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed minimum essential qualification.
The recruitment tests will be conducted in Pune (Maharashtra). Exam date, time and venue for the written exam/ skill test for all categories will be intimated through Admit Card (Call letter) by the HQ Southern Command.
Written Examination – The written test will consist of objective type multiple choice questions of 10th/ 12th/ ITI standard as per the minimum essential qualification of the post. The written exam might be of 02 Hours duration consisting of total 150 objective type questions (01 Mark each) of maximum 150 Marks, as generally conducted for Defence Civilian Group C Posts.
The question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) and will comprise of questions based on General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language and Comprehension. Candidates qualified in written examination will be allowed to appear in the Practical/ Skill Test of qualifying in nature.
For selection, final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in written exam subject to medical fitness, character verification, education and caste verification. On final selection, the candidate will be liable for All India Service Liabilities including field service.
