Eligibility Criteria (Age and Qualification)

The eligibility criteria like age limit, relaxation, educational qualification, skill test norms and experience/ proficiency for the EME Group C Recruitment are as follows:

Age Limit (All Posts) – 18 to 25 Years (18 to 30 years for Fire Engine Driver) as on the last date of receipt of application. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen and Departmental candidates is applicable as per prevalent Govt Rules.

Educational Qualification:

Pharmacist – 12th Pass and 02 years Diploma in Pharmacy and registration with State Pharmacy Council.

Electrician (Highly Skilled II), Electrician (Power) (Highly Skilled II) and Telecom Mechanic (Highly Skilled II) – 12th Pass with a certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute in the respective trade or grade OR Armed Forces Personnel or Ex-servicemen from the appropriate trade and minimum at grade I.

Engineering Equipment Mechanic (Highly Skilled Grade II) – 12th Pass with a certificate from a recognised Industrial Training Institute in the motor mechanic trade OR B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; or Armed Forces Personnel or Ex-servicemen from the appropriate trade and minimum at grade I.

Vehicle Mechanic (Armoured Fighting Vehicle) (Highly Skilled II) – 12th Pass with a certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute in the Motor Mechanic trade OR Armed Forces Personnel or Ex-servicemen from the appropriate trade and minimum at grade I.

Armament Mechanic (Highly Skilled II) – 12th Pass with a certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute in the Fitter trade OR Armed Forces Personnel or Ex-servicemen from the appropriate trade and minimum at grade I.

Draughtsman Grade II – 10th Pass or its equivalent and 03 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent from recognized Institute OR 02 years Diploma Certificate in Draughtsmanship (Mechanical) from an Industrial Training Institute or its equivalent from a recognized institute with 03 years experience in an organization of repute.

Stenographer Grade II – 12th Pass or equivalent from a recognized Board or University with Skill as Dictation for 10 Minutes @ 80 w.p.m and Transcription for 50 Minutes (English), 65 Minutes (Hindi) on computer.

Machinist (Skilled) – ITI certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute in the Machinist or Turner or Mil Wright or precision Grinder OR Armed Forces Personnel or Ex-servicemen from the appropriate trade and minimum at grade I.

Fitter (Skilled), Tin and Copper Smith (Skilled), Upholster (Skilled), Moulder (Skilled), Welder (Skilled) and Vehicle Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) (Skilled) – ITI certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute in the respective trade or grade OR Armed Forces Personnel or Ex-servicemen from the appropriate trade and minimum at grade I.

Storekeeper – 12th Pass from a recognized Board or University.

Lower Division Clerk – 12th Pass from a recognized Board or University and have typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or a typing speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500/ 9000 key depressions per hour on an average of 5 key depressions for each word).

Civilian Motor Driver (Ordinary Grade) – 10th Pass (Matriculation) and must possess the Civilian Driving licence for heavy vehicles and have 02 years experience of driving such vehicles.

Fire Engine Driver – 10th Pass (Matriculation) and must have at least 03 years experience of driving heavy vehicles and be in possession of valid driving license. Candidate must be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties and must have passed the physical/ fitness tests.

Fireman – 10th Pass (Matriculation) and must be familiar with the use and maintenance of all first aid Fire Fighting Appliances and Trailer Fire pump. Candidate must be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties and must have passed the physical/ fitness tests.

Cook – 10th Pass (Matriculation) and must have knowledge of Indian Cooking and proficiency in trade.

Tradesman Mate – 10th Pass (Matriculation) from recognized Board or equivalent.

Barber – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent from recognized Board with proficiency in Barber’s trade job. One year experience in the trade is desirable.

Washerman – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent from recognised Board and must be able to the wash Military/ Civilian clothes thoroughly.

Multitasking Staff – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent from recognised Board. As a desirable qualification, candidate should be conversant with the duties of the respective trades (Daftry/ Messenger/ Searcher/ Gardner/ Safaiwala/ Chowkidar/ Book Binder) with 01 year experience in the trade.

EME Group C Selection Process, Written Exam and Syllabus

The selection process consists of Documents verification, Written test, Skill test and Physical test (wherever applicable). Candidates will be shortlisted for the recruitment process on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualification and Admit Card will be issued accordingly. No weightage will be given for additional/ higher qualification.

Candidates declared qualified in written test will be allowed for Skill test and Physical test (wherever applicable) of qualifying in nature. Date of Document Verification, Written Exam, Physical Test (where applicable) and Skill Test for each trade as applicable will be informed through Admit Card sent via Ordinary Post in the envelope provided by the candidate along with the application.

Candidates are required to carry Admit Card along with identity proof (Passport/ Aadhar Card/ PAN Card/ Driving Licence) for confirmation while reporting at the centre. After verification of identity and bio-metric examination at the recruitment exam center, candidates will have to undergo Documents verification and Written test/ Skill test/ Physical test (where applicable) step by step as given below.

Document Verification

Candidates will have to produce original and photocopy of the following required documents/ certificates duly self attested:

1. Matriculation certificate/ Municipality Birth certificate in support for date of birth.
2. Aadhar Card.
3. Mark Sheet of the educational qualification mentioned against the post applied for.
4. Any certificate for the desirable qualification.
5. SC/ ST/ OBC (Non creamy layer for OBC)/ EWS or any other reservation certificate (if applicable).
6. Physically handicapped certificate showing 40% and above disability issued by competent authority (if applicable).
7. Discharge certificate in case of Ex-serviceman.
8. NOC in original from their present employer/ competent authority in case of Government servant including serving Armed Forces Personnel (if applicable).
9. Address proof (Passport/ Ration Card/ Voter Card/ Driving License).

Written Examination

The written test will be conducted for all Trades/ Posts. The OMR based written test will consist of objective type multiple choice questions (MCQs) of 10th/ 12th standard as per the minimum essential qualification for the post. The written exam will be of 02 Hours duration consisting total 150 objective type questions (01 Mark each) of maximum 150 Marks.

There will be Negative Marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) and will comprise of questions based on the subjects as per the pattern/ syllabus below.

Physical Test

The physical tests will be conducted only for the posts of Fireman and Fire Engine Driver. Physical measurements/ fitness test norms are as follows:

Minimum Physical Measurements:

Height (without shoes): 165 Cms (relaxation of 2.5 Cms in height will be allowed for ST candidates).
Chest (Un-expanded): 81.5 Cms
Chest (on-expansion): 85 Cms
Weight: 50 Kgs

Fitness/ Endurance Test:

1. Carrying a person of 63.5 Kgs to a distance of 183 Meters within 96 Seconds.
2. Clearing 2.7 Meters wide ditch landing on both feet (Long jumps).
3. Climbing 03 Meters vertical rope using hands and feet.

The written exam/ skill test/ physical test (where applicable) will be for 02 to 05 days or more days and may spread across different dates. Candidates will have to make their own arrangement for lodging/ Boarding during conduct of all types of examination.

For selection, post and category wise final merit list (result) will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in written test subject to qualifying the Skill test/ Physical test, medical fitness, education and caste verification. On final selection, the candidate may be posted to any Unit or Location depending on the organisational interest.
