Indian Air Force AgniveerVayu Bharti Selection Test 2025

Indian Air Force invited online applications for the Selection Test to join as AgniveerVayu (AV) for Intake 02/2025 under Agnipath Scheme. All eligible unmarried Indian male and female candidates can apply online for the IAF Agniveer Vayu Recruitment through the CASB website agnipathvayu.cdac.in from 08th Jul to 28th Jul 2024. Indian Air Force AgniveerVayu Selection Test 2025 as online registration form, eligibility, selection process, physical, syllabus, model paper, exam date, admit card etc info is given below.

Indian Air Force AgniveerVayu Recruitment 02/2025

AgniveerVayu will be enrolled in the Indian Air Force for a period of 04 years and will form a distinct rank, different from any other existing ranks. Indian Air Force is not obliged to retain AgniveerVayu beyond the engagement period of 04 years. On completion of 04 years of service, based on organizational requirements and policies, AgniveerVayu will be offered an opportunity to apply for regular cadre in the Indian Air Force.

These applications will be considered in a centralised manner based on objective criteria including performance during their 04 years engagement period and up to 25% of each specific batch of AgniveerVayu will be enrolled in regular cadre of IAF as Airman.

Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits – AgniveerVayu enrolled under Agnipath Scheme will be paid a package of Rs 30000 per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in IAF), Dress and Travel allowances will be paid.

Eligibility Criteria (Age, Qualification and Standards)

Age Limit – Candidate should be born between 03 Jul 2004 and 03 Jan 2008 (both days inclusive). Upper age limit on the date of enrolment is 21 years.

Educational Qualification:

Science Subjects – 12th Pass/ Intermediate/ Equivalent examination pass with Maths, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR

03 years Diploma Course in Engineering Branches (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma course (or in 12th/10th, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course). OR

02 years Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects as Physics and Maths from State Education Board/ Council with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in 12th/10th, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

Other Than Science Subjects – 12th Pass/ Intermediate/ Equivalent examination pass in any stream/ subjects approved by Central/ State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR

02 years vocational course with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in 12th/10th, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

Candidates eligible for Science Subjects exam (on the basis of 12th/ 10+2) are also eligible for Other than Science subjects exam. Candidates will be provided an option for appearing in both Science and Other than Science subjects exam in one sitting while filling up the online registration form. Education Boards listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website as members, as on date of registration will only be considered.

Physical and Medical Standards:
Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 Cms for Male candidates and 152 Cms for Female candidates. Female candidates belonging to North East or hilly regions of Uttarakhand, a lower minimum height of 147 Cms will be accepted (in case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height will be 150 Cms).

Chest: Minimum 77 Cms and Minimum range of expansion is 5 Cms. For female candidates, the chest wall should be well proportioned with minimum range of expansion of 5 Cms.

Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
Visual: Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable. Visual requirements will be applicable as per Indian Air Force standards.
Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 Meters with each ear separately.
Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.

General Health: Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidate shall be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

Body Tattoo – Permanent body tattoos shall not be permitted, however, tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of palm and for Tribal tattoos which are as per custom and traditions of their tribes may be considered.

AgniveerVayu Selection Process, Physical and Exam Syllabus

IAF AgniveerVayu selection process consists of Phase-1 (Online test), Phase-2 (Verification of eligibility, Physical fitness test, Adaptability test-2) and Phase-3 (Medical examination). After completion of all the tests, Provisional Select List (PSL) will be prepared and the inclusion of candidates in the PSL will depend upon their performance in the test.

The PSL/ AISL for Intake 02/2025 will be declared on 14th May 2025 (on 11th Nov 2024 for Intake 01/2025) through Airmen Selection Centres (ASCs) and agnipathvayu.cdac.in.

For selection, final Enrolment list for Intake 02/2025 will be declared on 30th May 2025 (on 28th Nov 2024 for Intake 01/2025) in order of merit as per availability of vacancies, medical fitness and eligibility.

Phase-1 (Online Test)

The online test is scheduled to be conducted from 18th October 2024 onwards. Online test for the Science Subjects, Other Than Science Subjects and for both Science Subjects & Other Than Science Subjects will be conducted as per the pattern below:

Science Subjects: The online test will be of 60 Minutes duration and the question paper will comprise of English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus.

Other Than Science Subjects: The online test will be of 45 Minutes duration and the question paper will comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

Science Subjects & Other Than Science Subjects: The online test will be of 85 Minutes duration and the question paper will comprise of English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

Online test will be objective type and questions will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper. As marking pattern for online test, 01 mark will be awarded for every correct answer, 0 marks will be awarded for un-attempted question and 0.25 marks will be deducted (as negative marking) for each wrong answer marked by candidates.

Phase-2 (Verification, PFT and Adaptability Test)

Candidates qualified in Phase-1 will have to undergo Phase-2 (Verification of Eligibility, Physical Fitness Test/ PFT and Adaptability Test 2) as per the details below:

Verification of Eligibility: Candidates must have the required documents as mentioned below, which will be scrutinized/ verified before the commencement of Phase-2 to ascertain the eligibility.

  • Colour print out of admit card for Phase-2.
  • Colour print out of duly filled application form downloaded on completion of online registration.
  • HB pencil, eraser, sharpener, glue stick, stapler and black/blue ball point pen for writing.
  • Eight copies of un-attested passport size colour photograph (as used for the online registration).
  • Original and four self-attested photocopies of 10th Pass certificate (required for verification of candidate’s name, date of birth and father’s name).
  • Original and four self-attested photocopies of 10th Pass marks sheet (only applicable for 03 years diploma course holders when English is not a subject in the course).
  • Original and four self-attested photocopies of 12th/ 10+2/ equivalent examination passing certificate and marks sheet. OR Original and four self-attested photocopies of 03 years diploma course passing certificate and marks sheets of all semesters. OR Original and four self-attested photocopies of 02 years vocational course passing certificate and all marks sheets including non-vocational course with subjects English, Physics and Mathematics.
  • Certificate for SOAFP (Son of Air Force Personnel) as per the prescribed format downloaded from CASB web portal.
  • Original Phase-1 admit card used during Phase-1 test bearing Air Force seal and invigilator’s signature.
  • Original and four self-attested photocopies of NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate (if applicable).
  • Additional Skills/ Qualifications/ Achievements (if any).

Physical Fitness Test: The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) consists of two parts, PFT-1 and PFT-2 as follows:

PFT-1: The PFT-1 consists of 1.6 Kms run within 07 Minutes for male candidates and within 08 Minutes for female candidates.

PFT-2: The PFT-2 consists of 10 Push-ups (in 01 Minute), 10 Sit-ups (in 01 Minute) and 20 Squats (in 01 Minute) for male candidates. Whereas, the PFT-2 for female candidates consists of 10 Sit-ups (in 01 Minute 30 Seconds) and 15 Squats (in 01 Minute). Candidates are advised to carry their sports shoes and shorts/ track pants for Physical Fitness Test (PFT).

Adaptability Test-1: As per the latest Corrigendum released by Indian Air Force, the Adaptability Test-1 (objective type written test) has been removed.

Adaptability Test- 2: Candidates qualified in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) have to undergo Adaptability Test-2 as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-2 is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.

Phase-3 (Medical Examination)

Candidates qualified in Phase-2 will be called for Medical Examination at designated Medical Boarding Centre (MBC) on specified date.

Medical examination will also include Baseline Investigation of Blood Haemogram (Hb, TLC, DLC), Urine RE/ME, Biochemistry (Blood Sugar Fasting & PP, Serum Cholesterol, Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine, LFT- Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT), X- Ray chest (PA view), ECG (R) and Any other test necessary in the opinion of the Medical Officer.

IAF AgniveerVayu Selection Centres (ASC): Ambala Cantt (Haryana), New Delhi, Kanpur, Barrackpore (Kolkata), Jodhpur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Tambaram (Chennai), Bhubaneswar, Bihta (Patna), Guwahati (Assam), Secunderabad, Kochi and Bhopal.

Online Registration form, Important Dates and Notification

Eligible and desirous candidates can apply online for the IAF AgniveerVayu Selection Test 2025 through the website agnipathvayu.cdac.in from 08th July to 28th July 2024. Keep ready a valid Email ID, Mobile number and scanned copies of all the required documents (10th/12th mark sheet/ certificate, Diploma final year mark sheet, colour photograph, left hand thumb impression, signature etc) for uploading with the online form.

To apply online for the IAF AgniveerVayu Selection Test you will have to Register (Sign up) on the CASB website. Thereafter, you can submit your online form for either Science Subjects or Other Than Science Subjects or for both Science Subjects & Other Than Science Subjects in a single application.

Documents Required to Upload Online – The following documents are required to be uploaded with IAF AgniveerVayu Online Application form:

  • 10th Pass (matriculation) certificate.
  • 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent mark sheet. OR 03 years Engineering Diploma final year mark sheet (if applying on the basis of 3 Years Engineering Diploma from a Govt recognised polytechnic in prescribed stream) and 10th Pass mark sheet (if English is not a subject in Diploma course). OR 02 years Vocational Course mark sheet and marks sheets of non-vocational course with subjects English, Physics and Mathematics.
  • Higher education Qualification/ Additional skill certificates (if any).
  • Passport size recent colour photograph (taken not before June 2024) of size 10 to 50 Kb (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
  • Candidate’s left hand thumb impression image (size 10 to 50 Kb).
  • Candidate’s signature image (size 10 to 50 Kb).
  • Candidate’s parent’s (Father/ Mother)/ Guardian’s signature image (if candidate is below 18 years on the date of filling the online application).

Examination fee – Candidates will have to pay Rs 550/- plus GST as examination fee. The fee can be paid by using Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking.

Important Dates:
Registration of online form commences from: 08th Jul 2024 (11 AM)
Last date for registration of online form: 28th Jul 2024 (11 PM)
Online Exam date: from 18th October 2024 onwards
Admit Card: Provisional admit card for the selection tests will be sent on registered Email ID about 2-3 days before the examination date.
