Age Limit:
Civilian Motor Driver (Ordinary Grade) – 18 to 27 years as on application closing date (age relaxation as per Govt rules).
All Other posts – 18 to 25 years as on application closing date (age relaxation as per Govt rules).
Educational Qualification:
Civilian Technical Instructor – B.Sc with Physics and Maths or equivalent from a recognized Board/ University with teaching experience.
Stenographer Grade II – 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board and Dictation 10 minutes @ 80 w.p.m and Transcription 50 minutes (English) and 65 minutes (Hindi) on computer.
Lower Division Clerk (LDC) – 12th Pass (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board and English typing @ 35 w.p.m on computer or Hindi typing @ 30 w.p.m on computer.
Draughtsman Grade III – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board and Diploma/ certificate in Draughtsmanship with experience in map/ chart drawing.
Civilian Motor Driver – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate must have the civilian driving license for heavy vehicles with 02 years experience of driving heavy vehicles.
MTS (Chowkidar), MTS (Messenger) and Fatigueman – 10th Pass (Matriculation) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board. Candidate must be conversant with the duties of the respective trade with 01 year experience in the trade.
Selection Process, Exam Syllabus and Practical Test
The selection process will consist of Written Test, Descriptive and Skill Test in Tier-1 and Tier-2. The recruitment tests will be conducted at HQ 2 STC Panaji. Dates for Tier-1/ Tier-2 Tests for all categories will be intimated in the Admit Card (Call letter) only to individuals whose applications received through Registered Post/ Speed Post and are found correct in all respects after scrutiny by the Commandant 2 STC.
Stenographer Grade-lI Exam Syllabus and Selection Process:
Stenographer Grade-lI exam will consist of Tler-1 (Written Test) and Tier-2 (Descriptive, Shorthand and Typing Test) as per the details below:
Tier-1 (Written Test) – The written test will consist of total 200 Objective Multiple Choice Type questions and comprised of 03 parts as given below. The duration of written papers will be of 120 minutes. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer given by candidates.
General intelligence & Reasoning – 50 Questions (50 Marks)
General Awareness – 50 Questions (50 Marks)
English Language and Comprehension – 100 Questions (100 Marks)
Tier-2 (Descriptive Paper, Shorthand/Typing Test) – Candidates qualified in the Tier-1 (Written Test) will be allowed for Tier-2 Test. Tier-2 will be consist of two parts as follows:
Descriptive Paper – Descriptive paper of 100 Marks in Pen and Paper Mode. The duration of the paper will be for 60 minutes. The paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/ Application writing of approximately 150-200 words. The minimum qualifying marks in Tiet-2 will be 33%.
Shorthand/ Typing Test – The test will be conducted in English and will be of qualifying in nature. Dictation test will be of 10 minutes @ 80 w.p.m and Transcription Test will be of 50 minutes (English) and 65 minutes (Hindi) on computer.
For selection, final merit will be prepared on the basis of total score obtained by candidates in Tier-1 and Tier-2 Tests. Only those candidates who qualify in Skill Tests will be eligible for appointment as per their position in the merit list.
Civil Technical Instructor (CTI) Exam Syllabus and Selection Process:
Tier-1 (Written Test) – The written test will consist of total 200 Objective Multiple Choice Type questions and comprised of 03 parts as given below. The duration of written papers will be of 120 minutes. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer given by candidates.

Tier-2 (Descriptive, Typing Test and Practical) – Candidates qualified in the Tier-1 (Written Test) will be allowed for Tier-2 Tests. Tier-2 will be consist of 03 parts as follows:
Descriptive Test – Descriptive paper of 100 Marks in Pen and Paper Mode. The duration of the paper will be for 60 minutes. The paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/ Application writing of approximately 150-200 words. The minimum qualifying marks in Tiet-2 will be 33%.
Typing Test – The test will be conducted in English or Hindi consisting of PPT and Excel. The typing test will be of 60 minutes duration.
Practical Test – Candidates secured the minimum qualifying marks in Tier-2 exams will be called for Practical Tests. The test will be of qualifying nature.
For selection, final merit will be prepared on the basis of total score obtained by candidates in Tier-1 and Tier-2 Tests. Only those candidates who qualify will be eligible for appointment as per their position in the merit list.
LDC Exam Syllabus and Selection Process:
The LDC exam will consist of Tier-1 (Written Test) and Tier-2 (Descriptive Paper and Typing Test) as per the details below.
Tier-1 (Written Test) – The written test will be comprised of 04 parts as given below as per the standard of Educational Qualification. The duration of written papers will be 75 minutes. 0.50 marks will be deducted as negative marking for each wrong answer.
General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
English Language – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
Quantitative Aptitude – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
General Awareness – 25 Questions (50 Marks)
Tier-2 (Descriptive Paper & Typing Test) – Tier-2 Paper will be a descriptive paper of 100 Marks in Pen and Paper Mode. The duration of the paper would be for 01 hour. The paper will comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/ Application writing of approximately 150 – 200 words. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-2 would be 33%.
Typing Test – Typing test will be conducted for those candidates who qualify in the Tier-1 (Written Examination) and Tier-2 (Descriptive Paper). Such Typing Test will be conducted in English or Hindi. Typing Test will be of qualifying in nature. Candidates opting for English medium should have typing Speed of 35 wpm and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 20 w.p.m. The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes,
The final merit of the successful candidates would be determined on the basis of total score obtained by them in Tier-1 and Tier-2. Only such candidates who qualify in the Skill Test will be eligible for appointment as per their position n the merit list.
Draughtsman Grade-lll, Civilian Motor Driver (Ordinary Grade), MTS (Chowkidar), MTS (Messenger) and Fatigueman Exam Syllabus and Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be based on Tier-1 (Written Test) and Tier-2 (Practical/ Skill Test) as per the details below.
Tier-1 (Written Test) – The written test will comprise of 04 parts as given below as per the standard of Education Qualification. The duration of question paper will be 90 minutes. 0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking for each wrong answer given by candidates.
General intelligence & Reasoning – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
Numerical Aptitude – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
General English – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
General Awareness – 25 Questions (25 Marks)
Tiet-2 (Practical/ Skill Test) – The test will be conducted for those candidates who qualify in the Written Test. The final selection will be made solely based on marks obtained by candidates in the Written Exam only subject to qualifying in the Practical/ Skill test.
For selection, final merit will be prepared on the basis of total score obtained by the candidate. Only such candidates who qualify will be eligible for appointment as per their position in the merit list.
